When I was growing up in Lafayette, Indiana My mom had a cleaning lady come in and do the main floor where the family congregated. The basement was left to me and my oldest sister to keep clean. By delegating the upper floor to her cleaning lady she took care of her responsibilities and came in to a clean home as we were being trained to keep our living space clean. I remember how dumb I felt when my dad had to show me how to vacuum our braided rug. It wasn't difficult, I just wasn't taking the time. He didn't have to show me twice.
